This policy explains what Best Pick Hub collects when you visit bestpickhub.org, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have written it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate, and we have tried to describe only what this site actually does.
In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Best Pick Hub, the operator of bestpickhub.org. You can reach us at any time at [email protected].
What we collect
Information you choose to give us
- Comments. If you leave a comment, we store the name, email address, and website you enter, along with the comment itself. WordPress also records the IP address and browser user agent string submitted with the comment, which helps us handle spam and abuse.
- Email. If you write to us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply and, where relevant, follow up.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our web server records standard request data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, referring page, and browser user agent. These logs help us keep the site running and diagnose problems.
- Cookies. This site sets the cookies WordPress needs to function, including cookies that remember your details if you leave a comment, and session cookies if you log in as a contributor. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not allow visitors to register accounts on this site.
- We do not run advertising networks or retargeting pixels on this site.
- As of the date above, we do not use third party analytics on this site. If that changes, we will describe the service here and update the date at the top of this page.
Affiliate links and third party cookies
Best Pick Hub earns commissions through affiliate programs, described in full on our Affiliate Disclosure page. When you click an affiliate link and leave this site, the retailer you land on may set its own cookies or identifiers in order to attribute a purchase to us.
That activity happens on the retailer’s website under the retailer’s own privacy policy, not ours. We receive reporting about purchases in aggregate. We do not receive your name, your address, your payment details, or a list of what you personally bought. If you want to know how a particular retailer handles your data, read the privacy policy on that retailer’s site.
Spam and abuse prevention
Comment submissions may be screened for spam. Screening can involve processing the comment content and the metadata submitted with it, including the IP address, in order to decide whether the comment is legitimate. Comments identified as spam may be discarded without being published.
Embedded content from other sites
Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos. Embedded content from another website behaves exactly as if you had visited that website directly, and those sites may collect data about you and set their own cookies.
How long we keep things
- Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow up replies stay readable in context.
- Email correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle your request and to keep a record of it.
- Server logs are rotated and discarded on a short cycle in the ordinary course of operating the site.
Your choices and your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. You can also ask us to remove a comment you have posted.
To make any of these requests, email [email protected] and tell us what you would like us to do. We may need to confirm that the request is genuinely yours before we act on it.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking cookies will not stop you from reading this site.
California residents
We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the preceding twelve months. California residents may exercise the access and deletion rights described above by writing to the address in this section.
Children
This site is written for adults making purchase decisions, and it is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the limited information this site holds, including serving the site over an encrypted connection. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of the page. Material changes, such as introducing analytics or a newsletter, will be described here rather than made quietly.
